ALGOPOL Research at the Policing in a Digital Society Conference

On November 16, 2023, both Merijn and Isabelle had the opportunity to present their work at the Policing in a Digital Society Conference (formerly Nordic Cybercrime Conference) at the beautiful location of the police academy in Apeldoorn.

Isabelle discussed how data professionals navigate public and ethical values in their work, reflecting on the limited added value of ethical frameworks. Merijn took a step towards the future, exploring how the implementation of AI ethics could look like in the police context. The presentations sparked an interesting discussion with the attendees.
