ALGOPOL: Research into Value-Sensitive and Transparent Algorithmization in the Police

Isabelle wins Best Paper Award at EGPA 2023

From September 5th to 8th, PhD candidate Isabelle participated in the public administration conference EGPA 2023 in Zagreb. There, she presented her paper “The ‘doings’ behind data: an ethnography of police data construction” at the e-Governance panel. In addition to valuable feedback, this paper was honored with the Best Paper Award by the panel. The paper explores how police public servants in local teams create ‘data’ in the form of police reports. The research provides valuable insights for the algorithmic use of that data.
