At a recent CRIM/AI conference (CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS AND THE USE OF AI: Challenges for Common Criminal Procedure Principles and the Principles of the Rule of Law), Esther Nieuwenhuizen, alongside police employee and fellow PhD-candidate of the National Policelab AI, Martijn van Vliet, delivered a presentation on AI registers in the Netherlands. Esther shared the initial findings of her research on the origins and impacts of AI registers, while Martijn discussed his study on how the information architecture of a large organization like the police should be structured to implement an AI register.
